It’s starting to get very exciting at the design centre. We’re busy changing up the pods for the launch of our new exhibition “Spring Break” launching 4 August.
The launch is bumper packed and will be in conjunction with a Women’s Day celebration in aid of the Safe Spaces Campaign. We’ve enlisted the help of 45 leading creatives to create unique artworks out of the yellow soccer balls (which will be auctioned on the night) and slowly the artworks are starting to come in. We’re loving what we’re seeing so far!
This gorgeous bronze ball is by Jean Tiran, Laurie Wiid van Heerden and Holly Birkby. The images shows the journey the humble yellow soccer ball took to become this thing of beauty. I can’t wait to take out my bidding paddle on the night…
Stay tuned for regular updates on the soccer balls as they come into the design centre. And if you haven’t yet rsvp’d for the event, tsk tsk… here’s the invite with more information regarding this worthy cause.

That ball is amazing!
Hope to see you on Thursday. And bring along that wallet. You’re gonna want bid on a few of these balls.
